Testing out Picasa

And so far it’s not working like I’d like. =P

EDIT: Looks like WordPress doesn’t allow flash. I gotta get around to hosting this thing on my own server sometime. =P Yay another piece of my paycheck gone every month!

Anywho, if you’re wondering what Picasa is, it’s basically Google Photos. You can upload pictures and make online photo albums that you can share or keep private or whatever. You can post slideshows and stuff too, but that’s the part WordPress’ hosting won’t allow.

Here’s my gallery for an example: http://picasaweb.google.com/kartmaster

  1. yeah unfortunately the wordpress.com blogs wont let you install plugins to let you post that stuff.

  2. I checked out your albums. That’s nice!

This is a service that lets you share pictures with other people, right? What’s it take to sign up? Could I put the little video clips that Jamie and Bryan send me of Bryson?

  3. First thing you’d have to do is get a Google account if you don’t already have one. You can sign up at gmail.com or picasaweb.google.com .

This will give you access to a custom google homepage if you want, gmail e-mail account, google docs and the Picasa. From your Picasa album just click upload photos and go. For videos you’ll have to download the Picasa software. It’ll scan your computer for pictures and videos and you decide what you want to upload. It gives you up to 1 GB of storage.
