Wedding stuff just about taken care of…

…as far as I can tell. Got my wedding band ordered today. My ring finger is only one size bigger than Andrea’s! A size 7. I have spindly little fingers. I went with a titanium ring since it’s supposed to be pretty tough. And it was fairly cheap! As cheap as rings get in a jewelry store anyway.

I’m starting to dread things less and less as more seems to be taken care of. I think we found a DJ and hopefully a photographer. After that it’s just get the tuxedos ordered. Bring it!

Some of the work paying off.

Well I’m pretty happy. I finally got a job interview out of one of the MANY resumes I’ve been sending out. I’m not getting my hopes up for the position…I’m just excited that I got a call back!

The interview is Tuesday. Wish me luck!

Taxes filed

Well Andrea did her taxes last night and it got me motivated to do mine too. Don’t have my W-2 yet, but I was able to use my last paycheck of the year and get all the info filled in online. I tell ya what, the internet friggin’ rocks when it comes to things like this. It’s sent off they’ll get it today, and I’ll have my refund in 8-15 days put straight in my account. How did the world work before!?

Getting a pretty decent refund too. Combined with the insurance money from the El Camino and I should have a pretty nice chunk of cash to put towards another project. Though I’m torn on what that should be! But figure that out, get the new springs and shocks for the Toronado. And I think with the rest of it, I’m finally going to start up an IRA. Wow, aren’t I a grown up!

The happy and the sad.

Well if anyone doesn’t know.  Andrea got a new job.  Hooray!  She’s going to be a customer service rep. for Cingular Wireless (I think that’s the company).  So she’ll be working the phones and stuff.  She’s pretty excited about it, and I’m happy for her.  But maybe she can tell you a little more about that job.  I don’t know much about it.

But I do know that she’s going to be working nights.  And since I’m working days, we’re going to see a lot less of each other.  I’m not too crazy about that, but it’s a good opportunity for her.  I think everyone can attest to working nights and weekends at somepoint, because you just have to.  Just too bad I’m not working nights too.  So if I seem bummed out at times these next few weeks, it’s probably just me going through Andrea withdrawls.  =)

But wish her the best!  I know it’s going to be hard juggling 30ish hours a week and go to school full time.  So say a prayer for her too!  I’m going to try to help out around the house and running errands so she can at least have some free time, but the prayers couldn’t hurt!

I’m back…

The email did the trick, Matt. I had to look through the ‘saved’ folder on email and found the password to sign back into the blog. Thanks! Do I still have to come up with the catagory thingy? Fix one up for me…make it creative!

Our family is growing…

Bryson Edward Duncan was born at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 23rd. He weighed in at an even 8 pounds, just like Matt and Andrea’s other newborn nephew, Nikolas.

Nikolas James Rodriguez

These are a few pictures of my new nephew. He was born on March 4, 2006 at 3:29pm. He was 8 pounds and 20 inches long. He is sooooo adorable!!!! It was just too bad that I couldn’t be there for his birth. But I will be able to see him in a couple of weeks. Yay for me!!!

speaking of jobs

my mother applied for a new job she had the interview and found out today taht she got the job she will be working in garden for UCOM at their cell phone divison so it looks like im going to be swithcing cell phone companies from alltel to sprint provided we can get out of the contract without losing a limb or two.

I’m so excited. Bryan has a job interview with Pepsi tomorrow at 4. I’m pretty sure he’ll get the job. He’ll be a route delivery driver and in sales. He’ll make a salary plus commisions of what he sells. He had a friend who worked there, said he brought home $1,000 a week! So, I’m pretty proud of him. He heard about a bunch of people getting the boot out there so he saw the opportunity to apply! So, say a prayer that his interview goes well!

awwe I got a warm fuzzy feeling

Today as I was driving my base housing I saw something cute/awesome.
There were three girls (about 7 years old average) selling kool-aid and cookies to raise money for the Katrina Survivors. (while I’m aware of the concerns of some coming out ahead, much help is needed). I won’t comment on how much I paid but the bucket was extremely full.
I see it unlikely they are scamming. Their mother and father were out there, and as I said, this was base housing.
Just thought I’d share. It was cute
